Ruling on Wrong D.O.B. On the ID Card
Changing one’s age on the ID card in order to get two salaries from the company

In the Aramco company there is a system of early retirement at the age of 50. If the employee did not complete 25 years with the insurance when he retires then he takes two salaries; one from the company and the other from the insurance until he reaches the age of 60. Then he takes only one salary from the insurance. And if someone completes 25 years with the insurance then he will not take a salary from them.
So some employees increase their age in personal ID card so that they take the two salaries for ten years. Is this considered cheating and defrauding?.

Praise be to Allah.

Undoubtedly changing one’s real age on the ID card in order to get two salaries is deceit and cheating that leads to consuming people’s wealth unlawfully. We do not know how people can take these haram actions so lightly for the sake of some passing worldly gains, and how a person can accept to consume haram things and feed them to his children and family. It is well known that every body that is nourished by haram things, the Fire is more fitting for it.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Every that is nourished by haram things, the Fire is more fitting for it.” Narrated by at-Tabarani and Abu Na’eem from Abu Bakr; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’ (no. 4519).

It is also most unfortunate that these employees enjoy many advantages and rights, and they have no needs that might motivate them to do haram things, except for greed and lack of contentment. We ask Allah to keep us and you safe and sound.

We praise Allah for having enabled you to ask this question and seek that which is halal. We ask Allah to bless your provision and wealth for you, and to make you independent of means through that which is permissible so that you will have no need of that which is forbidden.

Think about this great hadith which is a lesson about contentment. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Holy Spirit (Jibril) has inspired to me that no soul will die until it has completed its appointed term and received its provision in full, so fear Allah and do not be desperate in seeking provision, and no one of you should be temped to seek provision by means of committing sin if it is slow in coming to him, for that which is with Allah can only be attained by obeying Him.”

Narrated by Abu Na’eem in al-Hilyah from the hadith of Abu Umamah; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami’ (no. 2085.

We ask Allah to guide us and you and make us steadfast.

And Allah knows best.
